The Sous Chef is second-in-command in the kitchen, reporting directly to the Head Chef and overseeing the preparation and cooking of food. This role covers everything from training staff to ordering product to crafting delicious food, a Sous Chef needs to be able to do it all.
This is a role that requires weekend and holiday availability. Our busiest periods are weekends and holidays, and we need someone who can reliably work a varied schedule around peak business demand.

Job Responsibilities:
• Ensure timely training of kitchen staff
• Communicate with shift employees to help them understand job descriptions and company policies
• Review and uphold sanitation standards for the kitchen
• Achieve budgeted food percentages through effective control measures, portion control, kitchen timing, inventory rotation, receiving and storage procedures, transfer controls, purchasing procedures, kitchen security, and waste control
• Manage ongoing training, development, mentoring, and supervision of hourly employees
• Manage purchasing and preparation of all food products to meet quality and consistency standards
• Monitor food preparation to ensure recipe specs, portion control, and kitchen timing are met
• Monitor all food served for appearance, temperature, and sanitary quality
• Coordinate storage, maintenance, and repair of kitchen equipment to maintain operational readiness
• Manage and participate in line set-up, prep, and breakdown
• Delegate tasks to line personnel during service, with hands-on participation
• Work varied hours as needed, including weekends and holidays, to support business needs
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods
• Ability to bend, lift, and carry objects weighing 50 lbs.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Ideal Candidate:
• 5+ years kitchen experience
• Experience in a similar environment
• Experience managing or leading a team
• Pizza experience
• Self-motivated, comfortable working at a pace matched to changing business volume

Compensation: $55,000–$60,000/year based on experience, plus competitive tip out.
